Evangelina (Mattos) Almeida, age 90, of Fall River, passed away September 25, 2009. She was the wife of the late Alfred C. Almeida and daughter of the late Manuel & Gloria (Cordeiro) Mattos. Mrs. Almeida was a Homemaker and a member of the Melody Club.
She is survived by her four children: Alfred “Butch” Almeida Jr. & Raymond Almeida both of Somerset, Patricia Murray of Lynn, MA, and Pauline Clinkscales of Florien, LA. Eight Grandchildren, Fifteen great grandchildren, Three Great-great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late Manuel Mattos, Lena Rego, Gloria Oliveira, Dorothy Silvia, Rose Botelho, & Josephine Raposa.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. TUESDAY at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Cathedral at 11:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Calling Hours MONDAY 5-8 P.M. Donations may be made to the Citizens for Citizens Food Pantry, 264 Griffin St. Fall River, MA 02724.
