Richard “Dick” Ferruccio, JPD ret., 66, of Hartford Avenue, Johnston, died Friday, September 25, 2009 at Miriam Hospital. He was the husband of Irene “Renee” C. (Goffinet) Ferruccio.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Michael and Carmella (Paolucci) Ferruccio. He was a lifelong resident of Johnston.
He was a Marine Veteran. He was a member of the FOP and Past President of IBPO. He had retired from the Johnston Police Department in 1984 after 20 years and had also recently retired as a RI Court Constable.
Besides his wife he is survived by his children Richard J. Ferruccio of Johnston and Paula J. DeNoncour of Warwick, six grandchildren, a sister Louise Maniscalco of Johnston, two stepsons Scott Bonelli of Cranston and Joseph Bonelli of Colorado and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John and Michael Ferruccio and Maria Zinno.
A Mass of Chrisitian Burial will be held Monday at 10 am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston, RI 02919. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 4-7pm in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made St. Robert Church Food Pantry.
