Obituary

Sr. Margaret Trudell, PM (Sr. Ste. Marie de Nazareth), 88, of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, Manchester died September 24, 2009 at her residence.
Born in Burlington, VT on March 13, 1921, she was the daughter of Napoleon and Eva (Lariviere) Trudell. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in 1941, made her first profession in 1943 and her final profession in 1948.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Catholic Teachers College, Providence, RI, a master’s degree in education from Rivier College, Nashua, and a master’s degree in library science from Catholic University of America, Washington, DC.
Sr. Trudell taught at parochial elementary schools in Rhode Island and New Hampshire for 17 years. She later served as an assistant librarian and an aide in the college archives at Rivier College. She was also one of the founders of the Casa de Esperanza in Houston, TX.
In retirement, she authored the books, “Elizabeth Yates, Biography and Bibliography”, and “Biography of Anne Marie Rivier”.
The family includes two sisters, Pauline Trudell of Burlington, VT and Theresa Taylor of Des Moines, IA; a brother, Robert Trudell of St. Petersburg, FL, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday, September 28, 2009 at St. Marie Residence. Burial was in Presentation of Mary Cemetery, Hudson.
