Obituary

WORCESTER__Jean T. (Kruczynski) Zukas, 85, formerly Ward Street, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009 in Notre Dame Long Term Care Center 559 Plantation St. Her husband, Walter J. Zukas died in 2005.

She leaves two sons, Walter X. Zukas and his wife, Paula of Boxborough and Philip A. Zukas and his wife, Karen of Hyde Park; three brothers, Victor Kruczynski and Peter Kruczynski of Worcester and Chester Kruczynski of Shrewsbury; three grandchildren, Steven, Joseph and Paul and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters, Stanley Kruczynski, Leo Kruczynski, Angela “Nell” Stakun and Theresa “Terry” Serafin. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Stanislaus and Aleksandra (Lewonczyk) Kruczynski.

Mrs. Zukas was a cafeteria worker many years for the Worcester Public School Dept., and retired many years ago. She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, its Women’s Guild and its St. Cecilia’s Choir. Jean was active with the music program at Notre Dame Long Term Care.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Sept. 26 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME 33 Ward St, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Burial will be in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours in the funeral home are Friday, Sept. 25 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Flowers may be sent or contributions in Jean’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
