FRANKLIN—Robert W. "Woody" Wood 36, of Franklin, and formerly of Bellingham, died unexpectedly Saturday September 19, 2009. He was the loving husband, and best friend of Jennifer E. (Strong) Wood.
Born August 27, 1973 in Dallas,Texas a son of Cheryl “Cherie” A. (Pennington) Houston and her husband Daniel of Plainville and Lake Havasu City, Arizona and Richard Wood and his wife Apo of Munroe, NC. And also the much loved stepson of Daniel R. Dwyer of Millis. He had been a resident of Franklin for over 11 years.
Bob was raised and educated in Bellingham, and was a 1992 graduate of Bellingham High School, he also attended Quinsigamond Community College. He was currently working for Ascio Wireless Communications in Walpole and for the past 12 years he worked as a technician in the telecommunications portion of Verizon and was an office manager for the Radisson Hotel in Marlboro. He was also the owner of Precision Landscaping in Franklin.
He was passionate about spending time with his wife, children, family and friends. He enjoyed boating, golfing and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Franklin.
In addition to his adoring wife of 11 years, and parents, he is survived by his 2 sons, whom were the light of his life Dylan Robert & Justin Marcus Wood of Franklin, brothers Richard “Ric” Wood and his wife Margaret Lelli Wood of Leominster, Sean Dwyer of Franklin, stepbrothers; Daniel Houston Jr. and his wife Suzanne of Bellingham, and Douglas Houston and his wife Nicole of Bellingham; his paternal grandmother Margaret E. (Williams) Wood of North Carolina and grandmother Barbara (Hickey) Dwyer of Medfield, his in-laws Fred & Toni Strong of Ashland, adopted cousin, Jennifer LeMote of Maine, much loved nieces and nephews, Gus & Randee Marie Wood of Leominster, Nicholas Houston, Jordan, Jake & Jacobi Houston all of Bellingham; Godfather and maternal uncle George Pennington and his wife Linda of Bellingham and maternal aunt Mary Lomberto of Lake Havasu City, AZ and Lucinda “Cindy” Connors of West Palm Beach, FL; godmother Ruth Brunner of PA, a very large extended family and close dear friends, many of whom are lifelong including all his fellow “mariners” at Stonebridge Marina in Onset.
He was the brother of the late Randee & Robin Wood and the grandson of the late Raymond Wood, Daniel Dwyer and the great-grandson of the late Mary “Mae” Richardson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Friday September 25th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin (www.franklinfuneral.com) with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. Franklin, at 10AM.
Interment will follow in Union Street Cemetery, Franklin.
