Joyce Elaine Allen, 55, Clarksville, died Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Rev. Garner Smith officiating. Burial will be in Blooming Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday and from 12:00 PM until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born Nov. 28, 1953 in Montgomery County, the daughter of Raymond Bowers and Bessie Louise Smith Bowers. She was preceded in death by her father. She was a member of Crossland Avenue Baptist Church. She worked for the Montgomery County Sheriff Dept. in the records divison. She is survived by her mother Bessie Louise Smith Bowers of Clarksville, one daughter Melanie (Chris) Yarbrough of Clarksville, two brothers Harold Bowers of Hickman, County, Wayne (Donna) Bowers of Oklahoma, three grandchildren Matthew, Caitlin and Carsyn Yarbrough; and her companion, Jim Arko of Clarksville.
