TAUNTON – Christiano Teixeira, the husband of Adeline “Lena” (Andrade) Teixeira, died at Morton Hospital on Sept. 20, 2009.
He was 81.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Manuel and Conceicao (Cardoza) Teixeira.
Educated in the Azores, Mr. Teixeira moved to the U.S. in 1955, and lived in Westport until relocating to Taunton in 1982.
He was employed as a construction foreman by G. Conway Inc. of Charlestown for over 20 years, retiring in 1990, and was a communicant of St. Anthony Church.
Besides his wife of Taunton, he leaves a son, Christiano Teixeira, Jr. of Westport; 2 daughters, Stella C. Emond-Pacheco of Fall River, and Linda M. McGovern of Tiverton, RI; 2 stepsons, Albert Santos of Fall River, and George Santos of Westport; 13 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Wednesday, Sept. 23rd at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at Cedar Knoll Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Sept. 22nd from 5 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of ones choice.
