WILLMAN, C. MIKE, 79, passed away Friday, September 18, 2009 at Jewish Hospital.
He was born in Louisville to Walter and Juanita (Gaines) Willman. He was a retired independent insurance broker and US Navy Korean War veteran. He was a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of Shively American Legion Post # 220, Churchill Downs VFW Post # 2921, and Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Elizabeth Ann (Avery) Willman; son, Steven Willman; and two sisters, Alice Biegert and Mary Juanita Taylor.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Carole L. (Brehme) Willman; his children: Sheila Vandermeulen, Stuart Willman and Scott Willman; three stepdaughters, Cynthia Carrico, Cathy Omisande and Carla Canfield; 13 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, James Willman and Dr. Martin Willman; and two sisters, Kathleen Barker and Phyllis Miller.
He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by many.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. Helen Catholic Church, 4005 Dixie Hwy., with cremation to follow. Visitation: Sunday, 2 - 8 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy.
