Edward M. "Bucky" Player, 72, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Saturday, September 19, 2009, at Dorminy Medical Center.
Memorial services will be held 2 P.M. Monday, September 21, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Evan Harper officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.
Mr. Player was born June 17, 1937 in Charlton County, Georgia to the late Edward Eugene and Mary Elizabeth Snowden Player. He was a 1957 graduate of Fitzgerald High School and served in the Georgia National Guard for nine years. Mr. Player was a painting contractor. He was caring and had a wonderful sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife: Peggy Alexander Player of Fitzgerald, GA; sister: Betty P. Dorminy of Fitzgerald and several neices and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Player.
The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to organizations that benefit children.
