Kevin F. DaLuz, 47, of New Bedford died Saturday August 16, 2003 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. He was the son of Elizabeth A. (Lopes) Peters of New Bedford and the late Paul R. DaLuz.
Born in New Bedford, he lived in California and Las Vegas for many years until returning to New Bedford 2 years ago. He was a graduate of Twentynine Palms High School in California. He attended Southeastern Massachusetts University and LaMesa College in California.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Mr. DaLuz was formerly employed as a tractor trailer driver for Las Vegas Trucking Company and had previously worked as a construction worker.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1976-1978. He loved music and sports, especially basketball.
Survivors include his mother; 2 sons, Kevin Kenneth DaLuz of Maryland and Lavar Joseph Britto of Georgia; 2 daughters, Cheri Lanelle DaLuz of Maryland and Lacey Marie Andrews of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Kym Ann Ray of Ayer and Karen Inez Peters of New Bedford; his maternal grandmother, Agnes Thomas of New Bedford; 2 grandaughters, Leanna Britto and Lexus Britto; and a niece and 2 nephews. He was the grandson of the late Frank C. Lopes.

Visiting hours will be on Tuesday August 19, 2003 from 5-8 PM. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
