Sr. Irene Juaire, PM, 81,of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, Manchester, NH died September 16, 2009 at her residence after a long illness.
Born in Marlboro, MA on August 16, 1928, she was the daughter of Francis and Eva (Perron) Juaire. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in 1948, made her first profession in 1951 and her final profession in 1956. She served in the Congregation for 58 years.
Sr. Juaire taught in parochial elementary schools in New Hampshire at Manchester and Berlin, and in Phenix, RI. She was a member of the founding communities of the House of Prayer in New Ipswich, NH, and of Casa de Esperanza in Houston, TX. She also served as a nurse’s aide and cook.
In retirement, she became friends and visited with the students of St. Catherine School in Manchester. She enjoyed music and poetry.
The family includes a brother, Leo Juaire of Meriden, CT; a sister, Claire Davis of Hudson, MA, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, September 21, 2009 in the chapel of St. Marie Residence. Burial was in Presentation of Mary Cemetery, Hudson, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, St. Joseph Residence, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester, NH 03104.
