Obituary

Walter A. Tucker, 73, of Chester, NH, died Thursday, September 17, 2009 in the Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH. Mr. Tucker was born in Hooksett, NH on February 15, 1936, a son of the late Harris A. and Dora (Berry) Tucker. He was a resident of Chester since 1988, formerly living in Woburn, MA for over 25 years. Mr. Tucker was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was the founder of Duro Fiber Co., Inc. of Hudson, NH, a custom fiberglass company. Mr. Tucker was a member of Mt. Horeb Lodge AF & AM in Woburn where he served as Master from 1985 - 1986, and held numerous other capacities. He was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Aletheon Chapter, a member of the Aleppo Shrine Temple in Wilmington, MA and a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Woburn.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marjorie A. (Frederick) Tucker of Chester; one daughter, Patricia Mallory of Chester; one son, Kenneth Tucker and wife Valerie of Woburn; one grandson, Patrick J. Mallory of Chester; one granddaughter, Victoria M. Tucker of Woburn; one brother, Harris A. Tucker, Jr. of Alton; and one sister, Marion E. Danforth of Camel, IN.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a graveside service was held on Monday, September 21st at 11:00am in the Great Hill Cemetery, Rt. 121A, Chester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Winchester Hospital - Radiology, 41 Highland Ave., Winchester, MA 01890. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling the arrangements.
