NASHUA, NH - Bruno A. Nicolai, 87, of Nashua, NH, formerly of Lexington, MA and Venice, FL, died Wednesday afternoon in St. Joseph Hospital, Nashua. He was the beloved husband for 61 years of Maria G. (Pagliuca) Nicolai of Nashua.
Born in Brighton on July 31, 1922, he was a son of the late Angelo and Nettie (Gentile) Nicolai. He received his education in the Brighton school system and was a graduate of Brighton High School class of 1940.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during World War II as a Sergeant in the United States Army Air Corps 464th AAF BU in aviation mechanics.
Mr. Nicolai had been employed for over 50 years in his family's auto body business, the former A. Nicolai Inc. located in Brookline. His father began the business and eventually Bruno and his brothers owned and operated the business until it's closure.
Mr. Nicolai cherished his free time spent in the company of his family and dear friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters Norma McGowan and her fiancee Walter Bacigalupo both of Lowell and Susan Nicolai of Nashua, NH and with whom he and his wife resided; two grandsons Brian McGowan and his wife Tracey of Lowell and Stephen McGowan of Boxboro, MA and his companion Dawnmarie Browne of Salem, NH; one sister Agnes Tocci and her husband Frank of Bedford, NH; one sister-in-law Ann Caggiano and her husband Tony of Newton; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Tina Ditullio and Victor and Gus Nicolai.
Friends may call at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, TODAY from 4 until 8 PM. His Funeral will be held from the funeral home on Saturday at 7:30 AM followed by his Funeral Mass celebrated at 9 AM in St. Francis Church, Wheeler Rd., Dracut. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. Joseph Home and Hospice Care 24 N. River Rd., Milford, NH 03055.
