Peggy Hand Vaughn, 68, of Cocoa, Florida, formerly of Brookfield, died Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2009, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Joe Carr will officiate with burial to follow in Lawrence Cemetery. Jonathan Crowe, Caleb Rich, Freddie Johnson, John Hendley, Josh Carr and Robbie Simon will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 18, 2009, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Vaughn was born on December 14, 1940 in Brookfield and was the daughter of G. Worth Hand and Dorothy Tyson Hand, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas Vaughn; and one brother, Rex Hand. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Ms. Vaughn is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Bert and Sylvia Crowe of Tifton and Ken Crowe of Trinidad; one daughter and son-in-law, Buffy and Scott Mitchell of Cocoa, Florida; 13 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association in Ms. Vaughn’s memory.
