Obituary

Constantina (Christopoulos) Fotopoulos of Lowell, MA, wife of the late John Fotopoulos, passed away on September 11 following a lengthy illness.



Born in Akovos, Arcadia, Greece, she was the daughter of the late Panagiotis and Ekaterini Christopoulos. Mrs. Fotopoulos, who was known as Connie, came to the United States in 1950. She settled in Lowell where she married her beloved husband John, with whom she shared a loving marriage of nearly 50 years. Known for her kindness, generosity and graciousness, she was a devoted wife, beloved aunt, cherished godmother and a devout member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.



Her grandniece Georgia Katsoulomitis said of her aunt, “Aunt Connie lived an honorable life full of faith and love for her family, community and friends. She helped many people, and her home was always full of warmth, joy and laughter. Her life ended with grace and dignity and she is again reunited with her dear husband John. She was loved by many and will be immortal to all those who knew her.”



Connie is survived by her brother, Andreas Christopoulos of Florida; her siblings, Maria Poulopoulos, Efthimios Christopoulos and Hariklia Monasteriakou, predeceased her. She is also survived by her cousin Connie Roza of Lowell, MA and her family; nieces Eleni Katsoulomitis of Lynn, MA and Ekaterini Aridas of Meligala, Greece and their families; nephews Peter Christopoulos, Sotirios Christopoulos, and Efthimios Christopoulos of Florida, Kostas Poulopoulos of Lynn,MA, George Poulopoulos of Methuen, MA and their families; brothers-in-law George Fotopoulos and Peter Fotopoulos of Lowell, MA and Anastasios Fotopoulos of Brookline, MA and their families; caretaker Anastasia Tsiolas, who provided Mrs. Fotopoulos with care throughout her illness; many godchildren, grandnieces, grandnephews and friends.



Relatives and friends may call at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Monday, Sept. 14, from 5 to 8pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Lowell. Interment at Westlawn Cemetery. Donations in memory of Connie may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 62 Lewis Street, Lowell, MA 01854.
