Obituary

Mr. Maynard C. "Red" Eaton, age 80, of North Andover formerly of Wilmington, passed away at his home, September 11th, following a brief illness. Born in Wilmington he was the son of the late Elmer and Margaret (Copley) Eaton.

Red was a Wilmington resident for most of his life and as a young man he owned and operated the North Wilmington Taxi Co for a number of years prior to his honorable service in the United States Army during the Korean War where he served from 1951 to 1953. Upon returning from the service he became the owner of the Knollwood Farm Dairy Co. and operated the business for more than forty years providing fresh milk and dairy products to the families of Wilmington and surrounding communities. Red also operated a rooming house on Andover St. for many years. He was an active parishioner of St. Thomas Church where he served as an usher for several years. He was also a member of the Wilmington VFW and the Tewksbury/ Wilmington Elks.

In addition to his late parents, Red is predeceased by two brothers, the late Warren Eaton and Elmer "Babe" Eaton. He is survived by his sister, Nancy Eaton of Venice, FL, brother Donald Eaton and his wife Marie of Wilmington. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Judy Haas, Sandra Crosby, Donald Eaton Jr., Robert and Carl Eaton, Bonnie, Jill and Jack Campbell. He is further survived by several great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo - Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 374 Main St., WILMINGTON, Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with military honors and burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
