
Ouida Ware Pullen, age 85, died Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley, MS. She was born January 29, 1924 in Panola County to the late Roy and Menla Coreen Willingham Ware and was a member of Love Joy Methodist Church in Pope, MS. She worked in Water Valley at Big Yank and was a nurses aide at Yalobusha Nursing Home, but she is fondly remembered by her children for being an excellent seamstress and cook, and for being a talented cattlewoman.
Bro. James West will conduct the 11:00 AM funeral service in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS on Saturday, September 12, 2009. Visitation will take place from 10:15 until service time that same day. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery with Kenneth Few, Clark Pullen, Chris Moonen, Sam Hobson, John Baddley, and David Few serving as pallbearers. Dr. Joe Walker, Ray Schmitz, Jr. and Travis Brooks will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Survivors include three daughters, Ouida Few of Water Valley, MS, Maxine Baddley of Southaven, MS, and Becky Haley of Water Valley, MS; one son, John R. Pullen of Water Valley, MS; a sister, Betty Pullen of Water Valley, MS; two half-sisters, Patricia Hubert of Houston, TX and Clara Murphree of Bartlett, TN; two half-brothers, Roy “Bub” Ware of Germantown, TN and Larry Ware of Pope, MS; eight grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Chapman Pullen in 1984; a sister, Norma Jean Ware; a brother, William Thomas Ware and and a half-brother, Johnny Ware.
