Pfc. Albert H. Korzec - Of West Roxbury, died peacefully at age 97 September 8, 2009.
Al told many stories of his young life as a coal miner and riding the rails across the country. He became a gymnast and later proudly joined the Marines, fighting on Guadalcanal. He studied music seriously and became an exceptional accordion player, brining pleasure to many.
A longtime co-worker and best friend of the late Al Gersh, formerly of Centre Meats and Gerry Aiello of DeLuca’s Market. Al is survived by his children Joan, John and Debra, 7 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 2 PM in The Gardens at Gethsemane, 670 Baker St., West Roxbury. Relatives and friends kindly invited. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Al’s memory to the Disabled American Veterans, www.dav.org.
