on Sept. 7, 2009 Richard E. Rodier Sr., age 91, passed away in Sturdy Memorial Hospital after a period of failing health. Richard was the beloved husband of the late Phyllis (Johnson) Rodier. He was born in Taunton to his late parents Victor & Excellena (Demeres) Rodier. He was formerly of Barefoot Bay in FL. amd also of Yarmouth on Cape Cod. Richard served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy. He also was the former owner of Hi-Land Machine Co. on Bay St. in Taunton. He was a member of the Elks, an avid golfer and enjoyed playing tennis. He leaves his sons Richard E. Rodier Jr. of Taunton and Robert E. Rodier of Raynham and daughter Deborah Brown and her husband Norman of Raynham. He leaves his grandchildren Richard E. Rodier III of Sebastian, FL., Keith Rodier and his wife Laurie of Norton, Maria Muller and her husband Mark of Taunton, Norman W. Brown III and his wife Erin of Assonet, Jennifer Lounsbury and her husband Kevin of Brockton, Megan Correira and husband John of Bourne and Erin Lewis and her husband Dwane of Fall River and also nine great-grandchildren. He was pre-deased by his daughters-in-law Judith Rodier and Cecilia Rodier and by his great-grandchildren Richard E. Rodier the IV and Bryan Lounsbury. He was the brother of the late Edna Rheaume and Jeanette Medeiros. Funeral from the O’Keefe-wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. in Taunton on Friday, Sept. 11th at 10am. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Ann’s Church in Raynham at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thurs. from 6-8pm. Interment in the family lot in St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton.
