Joan M. (Clark) Frye, 80, a longtime resident of Londonderry, passed away Tuesday September 1, 2009 at her home. Joan was born February 12, 1929 in Springfield, MA to the late George E. and Anna (Ellenwood) Clark. She had worked for the former Toll Silver Shop when she was younger before working as an assembler for the Western Electric Company. She later worked for Jordan Marsh as a cashier and then for many years for Jewell Instruments as an assembler. She also worked as an Avon sales representative for many years. Mrs. Frye was a former member of the Londonderry United Methodist Church. She loved the ocean, lighthouses and especially spending time with her family on Long Sands Beach in York, Maine.
She is survived by her loving children, Linda Hiott of Londonderry, NH, Robert Frye of Exeter, NH and Scott Frye of Springfield, VT. She also leaves her siblings, George E. Clark of St. Petersburg, FL and Grace Henderson of Peabody, MA and her cherished grandchildren, Erik Frye, Amanda Frye-Homer, Mark Hiott, Jr., Tiffany Hiott, several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Mrs. Frye was predeceased by her devoted husband of 45 years, Robert H. Frye in 2002. Her brother Loren Clark and sister, Lillian Stephenson, also predeceased her. The funeral services will be held Saturday September 19, 2009 at 1p.m. in the Londonderry United Methodist Church, 258 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry NH.
