Lillian (El-Azar) Elias, of Roslindale, passed away on September 2, 2009. She was 84 years old.
Born in Boston, Lillian was a 1942 Graduate of Girls High School. She worked as a secretary for 45 years for the State Government. She worked in the Dept. of Rinks and Pools, Marine Fisheries, and Dept. of Environmental Affairs. Lillian retired in 1987.
She was a very active parishoner of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in West Roxbury. She taught Sunday School for 34 years, was secretary there for 20 years, and sang in the choir for 20 years. Lillian enjoyed dancing and bowling and spending time with her family. She was a member of LANA, the Longfellow School Conversion from 1990 to 2008, and a member of AABA since 1990.
Lillian was the beloved mother of Frederick G. Elias of CA, Peter J. Elias and his wife Becky of CA, and Charles S. Elias and his wife Susan of NH. Loving grandmother “Sitoo” of Laura and Lindsay Elias of NH. Dear sister of Samuel Azar of SC, Mitchell Azar of FL, and the late George Azar, and Emily Intraversato. She is also survived by several loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lillian's Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church 55 Emmonsdale Rd. WEST ROXBURY. Visiting hours at the Church Friday 5-8 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Lillian's memory to the Church.
Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery.
