Augusta, GA---Mrs. Nanette Sturgis Jones, 71, entered into rest on Sunday, August 30, 2009 at Providence Seward Medical Center, in Seward, Alaska.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 4, 2009 at Hill Baptist Church, with Dr. Kenneth Word officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Jones was a native of Augusta. She was a member of Hill Baptist Church and was the owner of Green Thumb Garden Center, prior to her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sydney Jones and by her parents, Guy and Anne Woods Sturgis.
Survivors include her four sons, Tony Jones, of Augusta, GA, Philip Jones and wife Sharon, of Evans, GA, Christopher Jones and wife Christie, of Buckhead, GA and Barry Jones and wife Angie, of Spring Lake, NC, five grandchildren Jeremy Jones, Skyler Jones, Jonathan Jones, Elyse Jones and Claire Jones and two brothers, Wayne Sturgis and wife Carren and Michael Sturgis and wife Sandra, all of Marietta, GA.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 3, 2009 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Platt’s Crawford Avenue.
