Lillian N. Jensen, 91 ½, died Tuesday September 1, 2009 at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH. Lillian was born January 22, 1918 in Auburn, ME to the late Wilbur Lonewolf and Caroline (Ricker) Jimerson. She was a retired bookkeeper from the former White Pines College in Chester, now the Chester College of New England. Mrs. Jensen was an award-winning golfer, having earned several medals as a Senior Olympian. She was an avid quilter and made numerous quilts, devising her own patterns. She loved playing Bingo and traveling. Lillian was a member of the Rey-Fre Seniors in Raymond, NH, the Chester Seniors, a former Sweet Adeline and a former member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club of Derry. More importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her beloved family.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Louise Ross and her husband Charles of Chester, her three cherished grandchildren, Nancy-Kay Cudmore, Polly-Anna Bath and Rowland L. Ross. Lillian also leaves her 7 loving great grandchildren and her precious great-great grandson. She was predeceased by her devoted husband Rowland L. Jensen in 1972 and by her two sisters, Alberta-Kay Decker and Wilma Byrnes.
Calling hours were held on Friday September 4, 2009 at the Peabody Funeral Home and Crematorium, 15 Birch St. Derry NH from 5-7pm. The funeral service followed at 7pm in the funeral home. The burial was held privately in the Forest Hill Cemetery in East Derry. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Greater Derry Boys and Girls Club, P.O. Box 140, Derry NH 03041.
