Norbert Joseph “Gunther” Ruemenapp, 84, of Goose Creek, husband of Helen Deman Ruemenapp, died Sunday, August 30, 2009 at Trident Medical Center.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 10 o’clock at Immaculate Conception Church, Goose Creek. Rite of Committal with Final Commendation will be held at Plantation Memorial Gardens, Hwy 17, Moncks Corner.
Friends may visit at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville from 5 until 8 o’clock Friday evening with a rosary service at 7 o’clock.

Mr. Ruemenapp was born January 24, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Charles and Hilda Ruemenapp. He attended schools in Detroit, Michigan. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving in World War II. He was a member of the V.F. W., American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed woodworking, reading and computers. He retired as maintenance supervisor from the Charleston School District. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and attended St. John’s Beloved Catholic Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are: daughters and sons: Ann and Roy Harris of Lakeland, Florida, Barbara and Anthony Fortuna of Shelby Township, Michigan, Gary Toner of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Linda Toner of Moncks Corner and Harold and Peggy Toner of Eastpointe, Michigan. 11 grandchildren: Jeremy, Amy, Eugene, Barbara, Pat, Mike, Scott, Ralph, Mark, Megan and Jason. Numerous great grandchildren.
