DERRY, NH - David G. Roche, 74, of Derry, NH, died unexpectedly Thursday evening August 27, 2009, in Lowell General Hospital. He was the loving companion of Deborah Ransom of Dracut.
Born in Waltham on February 19, 1935, he was a son of the late William and Mable (Brown) Roche. He received his education in the Waltham school system and was a graduate of Waltham High School class of 1952.
Mr. Roche had been employed for many years as a Trade Show Manager by Millipore Corporation of Bedford retiring in 1991. Following his retirement he was the owner of the Sand Dollar Bar in York Beach, Maine which he operated for a number of years. He was also employed by Home Depot as an Order Specialist as well as working as a Bus Monitor for Special Needs Children in Manchester, NH.
In his free time he enjoyed singing and Karaoke at the Boat House in Dracut. He was an avid fisherman and a lover of animals, he had four cats, two birds and many fish and he cherished time spent in the company of his family and friends.
In addition to his companion, he is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law Diane and Michael Dupont of Hudson, MA, Barbara Roche and Robert Flanders of Tyngsboro, Cindy and Andrew Boyt of Scarborough, ME, and Kelly and Michael McQueen of Sanford, ME; seven grandchildren Michael, Kelly, Jennifer, Brian, Patrick, Benjamin and David; two great grandchildren Zander and Gabriel; one brother and sister-in-law Robert and Jackie Roche of Merrimack, NH; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Dorothy Hall, Elizabeth Scalise, and William, Paul and Lewis Roche.
Friends may call at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Thursday from 4 until 7 PM with his Funeral Service celebrated at 7 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Metro West Animal Awareness Society 2 Maple St., Marlboro, MA 01752.
