GLOUCESTER: Grace S. Orlando, 77, of McPherson Park, died Wednesday, August 26, 2009 in the Addison Gilbert Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Gloucester on September 7, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Phyllis (Nicastro) Orlando. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and attended
Gloucester public schools.
Miss Orlando was employed for many years along the Gloucester waterfront in the fish processing industry, having worked at Gorton’s of Gloucester and the former Empire Fish Company and Bertolino Brothers.
She is survived by a sister, Phyllis F. Moore, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Charles “Lucky” and Mary Orlando and Michael P. Orlando, a grandson, Travis Aptt, nieces and nephews, Steven Moore, Eva Favalora, Phyllis Rogers, Anthony Orlando, Gina Manley and Charles Parisi Orlando and many grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins and dear friends. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Phyllis Taylor, six brothers and two sisters.
In keeping with her wishes, a memorial gathering will be held on Saturday morning, September 5th at the Stone Pier in West Gloucester at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours.
