Jose M. Travassos, age 63, of Fall River, passed away August 25, 2009. Husband of Maria Almerinda (Cabral) Travassos. Born in Fenais da Luz, Sao Miguel, Azores, son of the late Jose Travassos Pereira and Cristina (Carreiro) Pereira. He was a member of Espirito Santo Church and a retired Yarn Handler at Quaker Fabric for 32 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son: Joseph Paul Travassos and his wife Arlene of Fall River and a daughter: Christine Cabral and her husband Christopher of Somerset; 3 siblings: John Pereira, Maria Mello and her husband Keith & Maria Deforge and her husband Paul all of Fall River; 3 grandchildren: Jacob & Daniel Cabral and Gavin Travassos, several nieces & nephews.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. Friday at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Espirito Santo Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday 5-8 PM.
