Patricia A. (Leclair) Terris, 77 years old, loving wife of William C. Terris of Bedford, died Friday evening at the Lahey Clinic.
Born in Lowell on June 13, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Willis G. and Mary Esther (Casey) Leclair. Mrs. Terris received her elementary and high school education in the Lowell schools. She then graduated from the State College at Lowell and studied at the University of Colorado and Harvard University in Cambridge, MA.
During her varied career, Pat taught in Springfield, Lexington, Westford and Acton School systems. Mrs. Terris was a member of the School University Research and Development at Harvard and was active in implementing the Team Teaching Concept at the Estabrook School in Lexington where she served as a team leader. While being extremely active in teacher’s affairs, her interest, devotion and attention was always with the students because she was determined that they would learn.
Mrs. Terris was an avid reader, an active member of the Bridge and Coffee Club and loved to travel. She was involved in Teacher’s Associations but most of all, Pat loved being with her family.
In addition to her husband of forty six years, she is survived by a son and daughter in law, Jay C. Terris and his wife Maria of Lynnfield; a daughter and son in law, Lisa T. Cournoyer and her husband Jeff of Pepperell; three grandchildren, Samuel and Daphne Terris of Lynnfield and Caroline Cournoyer of Pepperell; a sister, Joan McGarvey of Vero Beach, Fla.
Mrs. Terris was also the mother of the late Anne Terris who died in 1967.
TERRIS- Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, August 26 from 3 until 7pm at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 NESMITH ST.(Rte 38) Lowell. Her Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, August 27, at 9:30 am at St. Margaret’s Church, Stevens St. Lowell. There will be No Funeral Procession from the Funeral Home. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are by the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, LOWELL.
