Grace S. Russo, 70, passed away at home in Medford on August 23rd, 2009. She was born in Boston on July 6th, 1939 to her parents Lloyd and Sophia (Kazynski) Matteo. Grace was raised and educated in the West End of Boston. She has been a resident of Medford for the past 40 years. Grace worked as an Insurance Agent for the John A. Pierce Insurance Agency in Winchester. She began her career after finishing high school and remained with the company for over 40 years. She is survived by her husband, Frank A. Russo; by her children, Paula Kalil and her husband Dominic of North Andover and Frank Russo and his wife Sue of Wakefield; by her grandchildren Alex, Christian and Felicia; and by her siblings, Genevieve Merrigan of North Andover, Gerome Matteo of Medford, Gloria Polifka of Wakefield and Geraldine Hansen of Wilton, New Hampshire. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Thursday August 27th at 9 AM. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday August 26th from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
