Obituary

WHITE, DICK DEVON, 84, resided at The Forum in Louisville, passed peacefully August 19, 2009.

Born May 29, 1925 in Auburn, IN lived in Louisville since 1955. Immediately after graduating from high school, he joined the Navy Air Corps and served in World War II. Upon his return he married Joyce E. Tobias of Ft. Wayne, IN. He became a tool and die maker with GE. He held other management positions with the company and retired after 38 years of service in 1985 as Head Safety Engineer of Appliance Park. He was a member of Westport Road Baptist Church in Louisville and Calvary Baptist in Englewood, FL. He was a certified safety professional, licensed professional safety engineer, member of the American Legion and a Kentucky Colonel.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Joyce, his daughter, Judy (Bob) Pessolano son, Steven (Debbie) White, his grandchildren are Lisa Keylor, David Tate, Matt White, Ben White, Stefanie White and Lyndsey Ryan. He had nine great-grandchildren; and a younger sister, Patricia Reid, of Thorold, Ontario.

A heartfelt thank you to Mr. White's Hosparus team and care givers at The Forum Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Owen Funeral Home - Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Rd with burial at Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Friday.
