Marjorie E. ADKINS, 87, formerly of Greenville, died Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Charlesgate Nursing Center in Providence.
Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Ethel (Mathewson) Jackson. She had lived in Greenville for many years. Mrs. Adkins had been an elementary school teacher for 25 years before retiring in 1977.
She is survived by her children, Barry L. Doyle of Providence , Melanie D. Janelle , of Johnston, Glenn W. Adkins of Smithfield and Jan L. Murphy of Warwick, four grandchildren; Daniel and Kyle Murphy and Bonnie and Sherrie Janelle, a great grandson, John Cotugno and a sister Shirley Logee of Granby, CT.
Visitation Monday 4-7pm in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Funeral service private. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 245 Waterman Street, Providence, RI 02906.
