Barbara A. (Caplis) Flynn 80, of Franklin, died Tuesday August 18, 2009 at the Milford Regional Medical Center following a long illness. She was the wife of the late William R. Flynn who died in 1996.
Born April 24, 1929 in Boston, a daughter of the late Edward J. and Mabel (Brown) Caplis, she had been a resident of Franklin for over 40 years and previously had resided in Newton.
Mrs. Flynn was educated in Brighton and Newton schools, and had worked as a bookkeeper for the former Leeds Department Store, and also worked as a sales associate for Kmart.
She enjoyed watching Broadway shows, gardening, and spending time at the beach.
She is survived by her nephew Kenneth A. Leeseberg Jr. and his wife Candace and their children Edward & Francis all of Franklin, a brother David Caplis of Newton, two sisters Marjorie Hickey of Woburn and Susan Roberts of Tewksbury.
She was the sister of the late Diane Caplis.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Friday Aug. 21st at 10:30am from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. (www.franklinfuneral.com) with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. at 11AM.
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
A calling hour will be Friday morning from 9:30-10:30AM prior to the Mass.
