Helen R. (Linne) Johnson, 96 of Medway died August 17 in the Medway Country Manor.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island, August 23, 1912, the daughter of the late Francis O. and Sophie (Namczy) Linne, Mrs. Johnson was raised in Brooklyn, New York and had lived in Yonkers, New York before moving to Medway in 1984.
She had been a secretary for the former WITCO Chemical Company in New York City for 17 years before retiring.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Medway Senior Citizens Club, of which she enjoyed immensely. She loved to play BINGO, but above all she loved the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Frances S. Walsh and her husband, Christopher of Medway and Dorothy H. Mannion of Cheshire, Conn.
Mrs. Johnson was the last remaining of nine siblings.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Karen Walsh, Wendy Torres, Kerry Sampher, Andrew Walsh, Michelle Pimpinelli, Diane McKoy, and Richard Mannion, and her great-grandchildren, Daniella, Jordan, Alex, Justin, Nathan, Janae and Violet.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday, August 21 in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in West Medway.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the charity of one’s choice.
