Obituary

Baldassare Angelo, age 84, of Burlington formerly of Somerville and East Boston passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, August 16th following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Elaine D. (Cormier) and together they shared 61 years of marriage. Born in East Boston he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Catalanotto) Angelo.

"Ben" as he was known to his family and friends was a Burlington resident for over thirty years. He was a retired bank teller and worked for over twenty years at the Federal Reserve Bank in Boston. He was also a United States Navy Veteran of WWII honorably serving from 1943 to 1946. Ben was a simple man and was extremely devoted to his loving family and many friends. In addition to his late parents, Ben is predeceased by his son, the late Charles Angelo, and two brothers, the late Salvatore and Frank Angelo. He is survived by his wife beloved Elaine and their children, Maureen Gardner and her husband Ron of Billerica, Stephen Angelo and his wife Susan of Lynn. He was the loving grandfather of Ronald, Stacey and Jeffrey Gardner, Ben, Jaelyn and Charlene Angelo. He is also survived by his great granddaughter, Brittani Gardner and is further survived by his sister, Nancy Lombardo of Chelmsford.

His funeral will be held from the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Thursday, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Margaret Church, 109 Winn St. Burlington, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday from 3 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
