Hildred M. (Haynes) Wells, 88, of Salem, NH, died Sunday Aug. 16th at Salemhaven Nursing Home, Salem, NH.
Born in New Brunswick, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Harry & Lillian (Smallwood) Haynes. She was the wife of the late William J. Wells.
Hilda was a longtime resident of Salem, NH where she was a member of Pleasant Street United Methodist Church for over 80 years. She loved to spend time with her large extended family and welcomed all of their friends as well. Hilda was known as “Ma” to many more than her own thirteen children. She loved to read and shared books with her family. She loved to travel with an occasional visit to the casino. An avid Red Sox fan, she continued to watch their games each season.
Hilda was predeceased by her brother George (Bev) Haynes, sister Viola Haynes and three of her sons William Haynes, Robert Wells and Lawrence Wells.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday Aug. 18th from 4-8 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH.
Funeral services will be held Wed. at 3PM at Pleasant Street United Methodist Church, Salem, NH. Cremation will follow.
