Obituary

Ferdinand “Freddie” Troisi, Of Medford died Wednesday unexpectedly in the New England Medical Center Boston, MA.

Born in Boston, he lived all his life in Medford and was the son of the late Golfredo and Rose (Rago) Troisi.

Mr. Troisi was a Foreman for the Park Department in the City of Medford for 31 years and retired 1985. He also was employed at the same time with the South Postal Annex as a Mail Handler for 31 years and retired also in 1985.

Freddie was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II. He was a rifleman with Company F, 179th Infantry Regiment, 45th Division in Italy, and France from Sept 1943 until captured in France on September 1, 1944. He was a German prisoner of war from September 1944 to May 1945, and also saw action at Cassino. He received the Purple Heart and the EAMETO Medal with 4 Bronze Stars. Freddie was also a member of the DAV Chapter 1.

Beloved husband of Madeline E. (Gaudette). Devoted father of Alfred M. Troisi of Braintree, Lori A. Troisi, Donald F. O'Malley and his wife Donna M. all of Medford. Loving grandfather of Justin M. and Kristina M. Troisi, Haley M. and Alyssa L. Jackson. Brother of Emilia “Millie” Roche, Lillian Bryan both of Tewksbury, Ann Budryk, Dorothy Sasso, Rose DeFranzo all of Wilmington, and Silvio “Sal” Troisi of Colorado. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Monday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. James Church, 779 Fellsway, Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Visiting hours Sunday 2 thru 8.

Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, Malden.
