Obituary

Edward John Vieara, 46, of Watertown and formerly of Franklin, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 14, 2009.

Born in Brighton on September 16, 1962, he was a son of Kay (MacLellan) Vieara of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and the late Frank Vieara. Ed was a resident of Watertown and had lived most of his life in Franklin and attended Franklin High School.

Ed worked for many years as a printer in the Boston area. He was an avid reader and enjoyed visiting family on Martha’s Vineyard and Cape Breton.

Ed will be sadly missed by his mother, family and friends.

Besides his mother, he is survived by; three sisters, Peggy (Tom) Jones of NH, Cathy Vieara (Chrissy) of CA and Linda Vieara (Don) of RI, a brother, Frank Vieara of Wyoming and dear friend, Darryl Royston of Watertown.

He was also survived by his nephews, Seth, Josh, Jacob and Alex Jones, Brian Vieara and Aiden Vieara-McCarthy, his nieces, Andrea & Katie Vieara & Madison Vieara-McCarthy, his maternal grandmother, Margaret MacLellan of Cape Breton and many aunts and uncles in Cape Breton and Aunt Rena Vieara of Martha’s Vineyard and Dot King of CA.

Ed was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Frank and Irene Vieara and maternal grandfather, Alex MacLellan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Wednesday, August 19 at 9:15 a.m. from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 10 a.m.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 5 – 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ed’s memory to the St. Joseph Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 557, Medway, MA 02053.
