Obituary

WORCESTER-Christos G. Tatsis, 78, passed away Thursday, August 13 at home surrounded by his family.

He leaves his beloved wife of 51 years, Helen (Maniatas) Tatsis. He was the devoted father to George C. and his wife, Denise Tatsis of Grafton and Sophia and her husband, Anthony Pentikis of Lynn. He was the loving grandfather to, Joanna, Christina, Christos, Noelle and C.J. He also leaves his brother, Kostas Tatsis and two sisters, Stavroula Lihouna and Eleni Athanasopoulos all of Greece and many nieces and nephews. His brother, Spiro Tatsis predeceased him.

He was born in Kavala, Greece the son of George and Martha (Nassios) Tatsis and came to America in 1956 and settled in Worcester. He was employed for 27 years at Stevens Sportswear until his retirement in 1985. His retirement did not last long when he decided to open his own business in 1986, C&H Variety and Helen’s Variety in Northborough. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral and its Senior Parishioner’s Association.

The funeral will be held on Monday, August 17 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St., with a service at 10:00 AM at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell St. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Sunday, August 16 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
