DRACUT - Arthur E. "Buddy" Fisher, 71, of Dracut, died Tuesday evening August 11, 2009 in the Fairhaven Nursing Center in Lowell. He was the husband of the late Jacqueline E. (Sawyer) Fisher.
Born in Lowell on November 5, 1937, he was the son of the late Philip A. and Alice G. (Haley) Fisher. He received his education in the Lowell school system.
In his early years, Mr. Fisher had been employed as a proof reader by the former Courier Citizen in Lowell. More recently and until the time of his retirement he was employed in the Human Resources department of Raytheon Technical Services Company in Burlington.
He was an avid New England sports fan supporting both the Red Sox and Patriots and in his free time he enjoyed the company of his family and friends.
Surviving him are his daughter and son-in-law Linda and Stephen Doherty and their son NH State Rep Shaun Doherty all of Pelham, NH; his son Robert F. Fisher and his partner Chris Blasdel of Dracut; two step sons Michael J. Laplante of North Carolina and Brian Laplante of Pepperell; a step granddaughter Cassidy Laplante; his best friend since childhood Richard "Dickey" Dodge of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Alice (Fisher) McCarthy.
Friends may call at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Sunday from 2 until 6 PM with his Funeral Service at 5 PM. Burial will be private.
