Obituary

Shirley J. (Perry) Tower, 67, a longtime resident of Norwell, died unexpectedly at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth on Wednesday, August 12. She was the wife of Philip V. Tower. Daughter of the late Everett J. and Eleanor D. (Mosman) Perry, she was born in Boston, raised in Stoughton and graduated from Stoughton High School, Class of 1960. She was a resident of Norwell for 42 years. Mrs. Tower was a homemaker. In her free time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting and making blankets for Project Linus. Shirley was an inspiration for all that met her for her fiercely independent spirit and inner strength. She will be missed by all.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Tower is survived by her children, Paul S. Tower and his wife Jamie of Foxboro and Pamela J. Mellusi and her husband David of CT, as well as her grandson, Nyles Tae Elliott Tower. She was preceded in death by her son, Eric D. Tower. She was the sister of Russell Perry and his wife Karen of Falmouth and Alden Perry of OK. She is also survived by 1 niece and 3 nephews.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Monday at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday 2-5 PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley’s name may be made to The Seeing Eye, 10 Washington Valley Rd., Morristown, NJ 07960 or Perkins School for the Blind, 175 N. Beacon St., Watertown, MA 02472.
