Obituary

WORCESTER____Richard P. Janitis, Jr., 39, of Worcester, died August 10, 2009.

He was the son of Barbara (Duffy) Janitis and Richard P. Janitis, Sr., he also leaves his grandmother, Esther (Ellis) Duffy, his step-dad, Julian Pultorak all of Worcester; his aunt and Godmother, Joyce Persson of Worcester; his aunts Barbara Janitis of Virginia; Kathy Duffy of Worcester; Jean Duffy of New Hampshire; his uncles, William Duffy of New Hampshire; Michael Duffy of New York; Kevin Duffy of Worcester; and cousins and many close friends. He was born and raised in Worcester and graduated from Worcester Vocational High School.

Mr. Janitis worked in patient transport services for the UMASS Adolescent Center, Westborough. He was a member of Vernon Hill Post 435 American Legion, Sons of the Legion and was also an Executive Board member there. Richard was an avid Red Sox and Celtics fan and enjoyed playing in dart tournaments with his Dad.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 15, from HENRY - DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. John Church, 40 Temple Street. After cremation burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Friday, August 14 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
