WORCESTER: Mary B. (Moriarty) O’Donoghue, 96, formerly of Denmark St., died Tuesday, August 11, 2009, in Notre Dame Long Term Care Center. Her husband of 62 years, Cornelius F. O’Donoghue, died January 27, 1996.
She leaves a daughter, Shelia O. Whittemore and her husband Stephen of California; a son, Neil F. O’Donoghue and his wife Theresa of North Oxford; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews in England and Ireland. A daughter, Cornelia M. “Connie” Dillon and a son, Stephen J. O’Donoghue, both predeceased her. She was born in Cahirsiveen, County Kerry, Ireland, daughter of the late Stephen J. and Catherine L. (Lyne) Moriarty. She came here in 1929.
Mary worked as an Inspector at the David Clark Company for many years, until she retired. She was a member of the Central Mass. Lupus Support Group and a long time member of St. Bernard’s Church and its Monday Afternoon Club. She enjoyed knitting, gardening and spending time with her family.
The family would like to thank the staff of Notre Dame for the loving care they provided.
CALLING HOURS will be held from 2 to 5 P.M. on SUNDAY, August 16, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 10 A.M. on MONDAY, August 17, in ST. BERNARD’S CHURCH, 228 Lincoln St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA.
