Jeffrey Thomas Williams, 74, passed away on Aug. 10, 2009 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House. He was the husband of the late June Ann (Dupray) Williams with whom he shared forty-two years of marriage.
Born in Danvers on Sept. 19, 1934, he was the son of the late George G. and Gertrude (Jeffrey) Williams. He was raised and educated in Danvers and graduated from Danvers High School, Class of 1952. While attending high school, he captained the football, basketball and baseball teams his senior year. Although he was an outstanding and popular athlete in his day, his friends remember him as very humble about his talents. Jeffrey went on to graduate from Merrimack College in 1956, where he majored in marketing. Upon graduating from college he joined the Mead Paper Company in Buffalo, New York as a sales representative for 24 years. In 1979 he joined Boyle Machine and Supply Co. in Peabody, where he worked as Sales Manager for twenty-three years.
Jeff will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather, as well as a cherished and loyal friend to many. Although he deeply missed his wife, June, who died 10 years earlier, he enjoyed spending time with his family, as well as regularly meeting with his many long-time friends over lunch and dinner. Prior to his illness, he enjoyed trips to Florida, Maine, and Las Vegas. Having lived in Buffalo for many years, he was an avid Buffalo Bills fan as well. His outgoing personality and infectious laughter will be missed by all. Jeff was a man of character and strong will who always fought for what was right. Although he was ill for several months, he never complained and fought to the end to overcome his ailments. He was very appreciative of his friends’ and family’s help during his illness. Jeff will be remembered as a true gentleman to all who knew him. He was an exceptional man who will be sorely missed by the many people he touched throughout his life.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Tina Williams of Peabody, Stephen and Terri Williams of Londonderry, NH and a daughter, Tracy Williams also of Londonderry, NH, four grandchildren, Kirstin, Nicole, Jeffrey and Tanya.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thurs., Aug. 13, 2009 at 9AM in the Church of Saint Paul, 50 Union St., Hamilton. Burial will follow in Hamilton Cemetery. Vst. Hrs are Wed. 4PM-8PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Director, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Jeffrey’s name to the Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
