Thomas H. Vennard, Jr. , 55, of Derry, NH passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 7th following a brief illness. Born May 3, 1954, in Mobile, Alabama, he was raised in Chelmsford, MA and was a graduate of Chelmsford High School. He also earned a degree in architectural engineering at Wentworth. He later moved to Tyngsboro and then to Southern NH. Tom had been employed by RDF Corporation in Hudson, NH, where he worked as an engineer for 23 years. He enjoyed camping in Gloucester, woodworking, fishing and country music . He was also a very talented and passionate guitar player. Tom enjoyed being with friends and family and cared greatly for his pets.
He was predeceased by his father, Thomas H. Vennard and will be sadly missed by his mother, Jeanne I. (Fournier) Strouse and her husband Joseph of Florida; his wife Catherine Stetson-Vennard; his daughter, Erin (Vennard) Santamaria and her husband Ed of Lowell, MA; his son Jesse Vennard and his girlfriend Ali-Elizabeth Held of Chelmsford, MA; his step-son Charles H. Stetson IV and his wife LeAnn, of New Mexico; 3 grandchildren, Nicholas and Jacob Santamaria and Brittaney Stetson; his sister, Cindy (Vennard) Kelleher and her husband Bill of Lowell; his brother, David Vennard of Lowell and a special Aunt, Eleanor (Fournier) Boucher of Merrimack, NH. He will also be fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, a niece, nephews, cousins and friends. Tom could not have enjoyed his quality of life without the aid and emotional support of the nurses and staff at Amedisys Hospice Services as well as his loving sister Cindy, who was his constant companion and caretaker.
There are no calling hours. Private services will be held by the family. Donations may be made in his memory to Amedisys Hospice Services, 1E Commons Dr., Unit 31, Londonderry, NH 03053. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH is handling the arrangements.
