Vogel, John W., 87, passed away Friday (8/07/09) at Park Terrace Health Campus.He was born in Louisville,KY to John & Julia (Albert) Vogel.
He was a retired Engineers Technician at Naval Ordnance with 30 years service.He was a WW II Navy Veteran and was a 57 yr member of American Legion Dixie Post # 220,
and a member of St. Stephen United Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his Parents and his wife of 62 years, Dorothy K. (Garthwaite) Vogel,
& 3 Sisters: Clara Mae Wolfe, Thelma Tellman, & Marie Baumgardner.
Survivors include his children: Gary W. Vogel (Jackie) and Mary Ann Kessinger (Pat); 6 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. 2 Brothers; Melvyn Vogel & Albert "Al" Vogel; 1 Sister: Irma Waller.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday 11:00 AM (8/11/09) at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
