Obituary

Olga “Ollie” L. (Berger) O’Day, 96 of Walpole died August 8 in Caritas Norwood Hospital. She was the wife of the late John O’Day who died in 1957.
Born in South Portland Maine, February 26, 1913, the daughter of the late Carl and Evangeline (Spear) Berger, Mrs. O’Day was raised in Lynn and had lived in East Walpole and Walpole for 71 years.
Mrs. O’Day had been a packer at the Peggy Lawton Company in East Walpole for almost 30 years before her retirement.
Ollie was an active member of the Walpole Senior Citizens Club. She found the most enjoyment of all with being with her family.
She is survived by her son, John O’Day and his wife, Dorothy of Hernando, Florida, her daughters, Carol Nanni of Ridge, New Hampshire, Joanne Cosgrove and her husband, Donald of Mansfield and Noreen O’Day of Walpole.
She was the sister of the late Helena Russell.
She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 12 from the Ginley Funeral Home 892 Main St. Walpole at 8:15 followed by a funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church at 9:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Norwood.
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Friends of Bird Park, 75 Wolcott Ave., East Walpole, MA 02032.
