Joseph P. Gallo, a retired electrician and long-time Medford resident died at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Saturday morning. He was 91.
Joseph was born and raised in Boston, son of the late Ignazio and Maria (Gamberessi) Gallo. Joseph was a Medford resident for over 45 years and had previously lived in Somerville. An electrician by trade, Joseph worked for General Electric early in his life and then worked as an electrician for Filenes for 25 years. He also assisted his son at his electrical contracting firm, Gallo Electric. Joe was a good husband father and grandfather who enjoyed music and played the piano. He will be missed by those who loved him.
He was the beloved husband of Mary (Luppi) Gallo. He was a devoted father to Joseph “Chip” Gallo and his wife Judith of Plymouth and FL, Camille Gallo and her companion Arthur Weeks of FL, Anthony Gallo and his wife Karen of FL, Maria Gallo and her companion John of FL and Janice Mogauro and her husband Jimmy of Woburn. He was a loving grandfather to 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was the dear brother of Theresa Allesandro and her husband John of Malden.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting Hours Monday 4 – 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
