Mickey Fisher, 55, Clarksville, died Wednesday, August 5, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Rev. Dr. Lenoir Culbertson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born November 30, 1953 in Sinton, TX. He graduated from APSU in 1976 and was a member of the 73-76 Austin Peay Basketball Team. He taught and coached in the Ft. Campbell School System for the past thirty three years. Mr. Fisher was a member of the National Education Association and Kentucky Education Association, a board member for fourteen years for the Clarksville Junior Golf Tour, and a board member for ten years for the Craig Rudolph Memorial Golf Tournament. Survivors include his parents, George and Myra Fisher, Clarksville; wife, Mary Hopson Fisher; sons, Hunter Fisher (Christine), Winston Salem, NC; Brett Fisher (Katie), Kennesaw, GA; and Ryne Fisher, Clarksville; sister, Stephanie Roberts (Red), Nashville; and two grandchildren, Bailey and Myra. Pallbearers will be Bobby Cartwright, Paul Martin, Dr. Jim Brannen, Walter McCutchen, Ernie Briggs, Jimmy Young, Don Dority, Greg Walker, and Horace Heggie. Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. Keith Peterson. The family request in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Clarksville Junior Golf Tour or the Craig Rudolph Memorial Golf Tournament, 1708 Merritt Drive, Clarksville, TN 37043.
