Obituary

WORCESTER-Edmund Francis “Pat” Foley, 84, of Worcester, was called by angels on Tuesday, August 4th at home after a long illness and surrounded by his family.

He leaves behind his first love, Ellen A. (Murphy) Foley, wife of 60 years; four children, son, Robert G. Foley and his wife, Elizabeth of West Boylston, and their two daughters, Kara and Leah Foley; daughter, Kathleen Scavone of Worcester and her son, Dominic Scavone of FL and his daughter, Lillie; son, Paul F. Foley and his wife, Chris of Stoneham and their two sons, Shane and Connor; son, Michael D. Foley and his wife, Carolyn F. Ingalls of Pepperell and their two children, Matthew and Lauren. He also leaves a brother, Paul J. Foley and his wife, Jane of Holden.

He was born in Worcester, the son of Edmund and Kate (Leahy) Foley and graduated from Commerce High School.

Pat worked for 38 years at the former New England Gas and Electric Company of Worcester before retiring in 1987. Upon retirement, Pat kept busy helping his family and friends with any type of projects from babysitting to painting. He was always willing to help anyone and never wanted anything in return except to spend more time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time at his vacation home at Hampton Beach as well as trips to Castle Island. We will all miss spending time with him in his garage having a cold one.

The family would like to thank Pat’s caregivers Ameyo and Nena for their loving care.

The funeral will be held on Friday, August 7 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton St. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday, August 6 from 5-8 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Stephen’s Church Restoration Fund, 16 Hamilton St., Worcester, MA 01604.
