CAROL A. (WHITING) TURNER, a lifelong resident of Hingham, died on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009 at the Southwood Nursing Center in Norwell. She was 87. Mrs. Turner was born in Hingham and graduated from Hingham High School and the Chandler School of Business in Boston. Following her education, she worked at the Hingham Institution for Savings and then for many years for the Howard Johnson family as a bookkeeper for their restaurant and ice cream business.
She was the wife of the late Fred R. Turner, Sr., and mother of Fred R. Turner, Jr. of Coral Springs, FL and the late W. Scott Turner. Grandmother of Keith T. Turner, Fred R. Turner, III, Glen P. Turner and Erin A. Rivas. Great Grandmother of Ryan and Sean Turner and Sarah and Dylan Rivas. Mrs. Turner is also survived by her brother, Richard S. Whiting of Hingham.
